A new visitor experience, upgraded facilities, staff training or a better online booking system might be sitting on your business wish list. Finding the funding to make it happen, however can be another matter. That’s where GrantGuru comes in.

What is GrantGuru?

GrantGuru is an online grant-finding platform that brings together funding opportunities from government, corporate and philanthropic sources in one searchable place.

Through the free Narrandera Grants Hub, local tourism operators and event organisers can search for grants, filter opportunities to suit their business and register for alerts when relevant funding becomes available.

How does it work?

Once registered for a free account you can:

  • Receive alerts about grants relevant to your needs

  • Save opportunities to revisit later

  • Keep track of opening and closing dates

  • Monitor progress of applications

  • Access grant-writing tips and resources (the tourism team at the Destination and Discovery Hub is also available should you wish for additional support).

When setting up your profile and alerts, consider the different parts of your business. A tourism operator may also fit within categories such as hospitality, accommodation, events, agriculture, heritage, environment, arts and culture, accessibility, or small business. Exploring more than one category can help uncover opportunities that may not be labelled specifically as “tourism”

Start looking before you need funding

The best time to begin searching for grants is often before you have an urgent project. Finding an opportunity early gives you time to confirm your eligibility, refine your idea, gather quotes and supporting information, prepare a realistic budget and develop a stronger application. It can also help you build a pipeline of future projects, ready to progress when the right funding program opens.

GrantGuru is a grant-finding and planning tool, rather than a guarantee of funding. Always read the program guidelines carefully and make sure your business and proposed project meet the eligibility requirements before starting an application.
