New Year’s Eats: Served Hot, Extra Sauce

Resolutions are a tomorrow problem — tonight we feast! Smoke drifting from the grill, the sizzle of meat hitting heat, music carrying across the crowd, and the crackle of fireworks. Retro Rewind: Countdown to 2026 is bringing festival energy to Narrandera with street eats and gourmet bites that are absolutely worth staying up for.

If you follow your nose, you’ll find Pimientos Paella. Cooked fresh on-site in wide, shallow pans, their paella is all slow heat and deep flavour: saffron-stained rice, rich stock, and generous fillings. The aroma alone pulls a crowd.

OUTDO.BREW will be serving their signature nacho bowls, coming in layered and loaded, while their sliders deliver big flavour in a few messy, satisfying bites. This is food that’s bold, hands-on and perfectly suited to eating between dance-floor returns. We’ve hit up the team for a sneak peek and are thrilled to report they’ll be serving our favourites: Chicken & Naan, and Prawn & Tortilla.

Prickly Lizard Events is bringing serious flavour to the night, with corn ribs slicked in lemon myrtle butter, emu steak and kangaroo burgers. Inspired by their Wiradjuri and Calabrian Italian heritage, this family-run food truck has created a menu that you’ll be thinking about long after the fireworks fade — perfect fuel for the final countdown.

M&K’s Delights will be running the bar, keeping the drinks flowing as midnight approaches, while also serving golden fried chicken, hot chips, and loaded fries. With a courtesy bus operating on the night, it’s the perfect excuse to sit, sip and savour. Local favourites, Gilmore’s Catering are bringing their twisted potatoes and snow cones, while E&K Hotdogs are churning out hotdogs the way they should be — juicy sausages, soft buns, and generous toppings that are easy to eat and impossible to ignore. Just when you think you’re finished, dessert has other ideas. Pap’s Soft Serve rounds out the night with their classic soft-serve ice cream.

This is New Year’s Eve for food lovers: street eats, gourmet bites, music in the air, and fireworks overhead. Eat well, stay late, and let tomorrow take care of itself.
