Your Summer Soundtrack: Live Music in Narrandera
Summer in the Riverina has its own easy rhythm. Warm nights, slow sunsets, and wide-open skies. The days run long, the nights stay warm, and before you know it, someone’s setting up a mic or plugging in an amp. There’s live music most weekends across the shire. It might be an acoustic set in a leafy beer garden, a full band at the pub, or a festival stage lighting up the night but, wherever it is, there’s a good chance the music isn’t far away.
These aren’t the kind of nights you have to plan months in advance. They’re the nights where you wander down, grab a drink, and let the music set the pace — here’s a taste of what’s on:
Narrandera Spring Fair | 1 November
First stop on the summer soundtrack is the Spring Fair, a night that brings together food, fun, and seriously good music under the stars. Guitarist and Songwriter, Kathleen Halloran, headlines the evening, widely known for her swaggering fretboard work — blending technical mastery with vulnerable, intimate songwriting. The launch of her solo career has seen her sweep through the country with headline shows and appearances on some of our favourite festival stages.
“I am always keeping my ear out for players that transport me... Kathleen is one of those rare finds.”
Local favourites Sameera Bashir and Remedy round out the lineup, bringing homegrown heart and energy to the stage. Live music runs from 6PM to 10PM across two stages, with food trucks, market stalls, rides, and more.
Charles Sturt Hotel | 31October
Over at the Charles Sturt Hotel (AKA Dunc’s), they’re throwing a Halloween party that’s set to be all treats and no tricks. Costumes are encouraged, the bar is mixing some spooky specials, and DJ Runamuck will be playing from 6PM.
The Bowlo | 31 October & 1 November
The Narrandera Bowling & Recreation Club has your weekend sorted with two big days of music.
Get spooky on Friday 31 October as DJ Shaun Battler takes over the decks for a Halloween Disco from 6PM to 8PM — the perfect night for the kids to burn off some energy while parents enjoy happy hour (5-7PM) and dinner from Outdo.Brew.
Then, roll into Saturday for Ladies Day, starting at 11AM with DJ Dee Verse spinning tunes from 12PM to 4PM. Expect cocktails and sunshine — the ideal pre-game before heading to Spring Fair later that evening.
Line Dancing | 2 November
Narrandera Line Dancing Group will be at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club for an afternoon of dancing and live music with Shaun Minnick on Sunday 2 November from 2PM to 5PM. It’s a relaxed afternoon tea social dance, open to all experience levels — whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just keen to tap your boots along.
Bidgee Hotel | 13 December
If you didn’t get enough of Sameera at Spring Fair, you’re in luck — she’ll be back at The Bidgee on Saturday 13 December from 8PM. A homegrown favourite with five original albums, Sameera always delivers a night worth remembering.
New Year’s Eve | 31 December
Round of the year — and dance your way into the next — at Retro Rewind: Countdown to 2026! This massive New Year’s Eve celebration will feature a live band and DJ, glow roller skating, a retro-inspired dance floor, street eats and gourmet bites, rides for all ages, and fireworks at 10PM. With free entry and plenty of nostalgia-fuelled fun, it’s the perfect way to close out your summer soundtrack.
The Final Note
From pub sets and twilight stages to roller-skate discos and New Year’s fireworks, live music is the heartbeat of summer in Narrandera. Whether you’re chasing a night out or just following the sound down the street, there’s always a melody waiting to find you. So, grab your mates, raise a glass, and let the rhythm of the Riverina carry you from one good night to the next.
