A testament to community and country women’s history, the CWA Rest House dates back to July 1924.

While the term ‘rest room’ might confuse some (it’s often mistaken for public toilets), this wasn’t just any rest stop. Yes, the house offered clean facilities, but it was so much more. It was a place to unwind and a home away from home. Here, women could relax, let the kids roam freely, enjoy a cup of tea and hold meetings in dignity and comfort
