Narrandera’s Big Guitar was created in 1988 to promote the town's country music club. Today, it sits proudly at the Narrandera Destination and Discovery Hub, offering a fun and unique photo opportunity that’s not to be missed.

Accessibility

  • Actively welcomes people with access needs, catering for people who use a wheelchair and people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids).

  • Welcomes people who are deaf or have hearing loss and who are blind or have vision loss.

  • Provides seating in common areas including reception area.

  • Welcomes and assists people who have challenges with learning, communication, understanding and behaviour. This includes people with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury (ABI), dyslexia and dementia.

Make music with the Big Playable Guitar. Due to its size, it’s played as a bass guitar and requires two musicians to bring it to life.

Crafted from plywood by former local Robert Palmer with members of the Narrandera Community and Country Music Association of Australia, this impressive instrument took over 300 hours to complete
